This was the car in which Rene nearly became the main course of the “French Barbeque” at Albany-Saratoga in May, 1966. Ed, wearing a short-sleeve t-shirt, cotton trousers and no gloves, reached into the flaming wreckage and pulled Rene out, saving his life.

1965-09-03. This was Ed’s car after a wreck at Malta that resulted in his fracturing a leg. Within two weeks, however, he was back racing.
