Wendell Scott

1960 – Daytona Permatex 250. Wendell was caught up in the first lap 37-car crash which knocked out his windshield. In the pits he then removed his car’s rear window and wired it into place as a makeshift windshield. He returned to the race but later his engine blew.

Bill Wimble

1960 – Stafford Springs. Bill Wimble was a fine driver, one of the very best “combo” drivers who excelled on both asphalt and dirt. In his autobiography, however, Bill said something unkind and, I believe, inaccurate about Ed. We’re giving him a place on this website, but only a small one.
