1972-04-29 – Martinsville 100-lap inverted start race, won by Bugs Stevens. Fred DeSarro in the Len Boehler #3 had fastest qualifying time and is starting at the back. Gene Bergin is in the red #1 Pinto owned by Dick Armstrong. Gene finished second.
