1970-05-24. Ed was leading on L198 when the engine began to starve of fuel. The necessary pit-stop cost him the lead and he finished 3rd. It turned out that there was enough fuel remaining in the tank, but somehow a paper playing card had got into the tank and was blocking the fuel pick-up.
