Thompson open-comp race. Behind Ed’s $ (on outside pole) is Beebe Zalenski’s silver M-6 in row 2. On the inside towards the rear is the white version of Bill Slater’s V8 and at the rear is the Benny Washburn #15 which Ed drove at least twice.
J-2
1962 (approximately). The J-2 was usually driven by Red Foote. Noted racing historian Bruce Cohen was told that Ed bought and briefly owned the car. Although that has not been confirmed, it seems that Ed drove the car but did not like it and either declined to buy it or, if he had already bought it, sold it soon afterward.

1962 – Wall Stadium 300-lap race. Ed led for 190 laps until, when he had a 1 1/2 lap lead, a mechanical problem forced a 5-lap pitstop. He came back to finish 7th.
