Norwood. Ed’s 2x is midfield on the outside. At the front are Bob Karvonen in the #99, Fred DeSarro in the #11, Leo Cleary in the #41, and Bugs Stevens in the #3. Photo from Racingthroughtime.com.

Ray Hendrick is the the first red coupe, Ed is in the second. They started 21st and 23rd respectively but soon made their way through the field to the front.

1968-11-01 – Martinsville. This was the start of the Cardinal 500. Ed started 23rd, directly behind Ray Hendrick. Both Ed and Ray had problems in qualifying time trials and had to achieve their starting positions by winning qualifying races.
