Denny Zimmerman has kindly informed me that the gentleman leaning against the 2x is “Fats” Caruso.

1967-10-22 – Martinsville Cardinal 300.

This photo appears to have been taken shortly after August 18th, 1968, when the rear of the 2x was burned while being refueled during the Trenton 200. Please note that Ed is smoking a cigarette.
