Other – 33

Not long before the 1968 Langhorne race, regular driver Bill Wimble suffered serious injuries at a race at Lebanon Valley. At Langhorne, the #33 was driven by Ray Tilley, who had already qualified for the race in a different car.

Anecdote

This relates to an illegal reverse-rotation engine that was being run in the V8 driven by Bill Slater. Ed suspected what was going on but Slater’s refusal to start the car prevented Ed from confirming it.
