Different people will have different perspectives, but there is no way that Geoff Bodine deserves to be #3 on this list. After accounting for the relative shortness of his Modified career and the equipment advantage that he regularly enjoyed, Bodine should not be in the top 10.
Anecdote
The Vitari-Bombacci V8 driven by Bill Slater was a very successful combination for most of the 1960s. This anecdote sheds light on an illegal engine arrangement that the team ran for some time. Ed suspected that something about the engine was not what it should have been, but the team lied about its having a dead battery, which prevented him from discovering the truth.
